About The Event
We invite college professionals and faculty who research or oversee college peer mentoring program to three days of learning, sharing and networking. We are looking to share across departments, fields and programs and invite participants from programs such as:
- First-year experience
- Academic advising
- Peer education
- Tutoring & supplementary instruction
- College access
- Resident advising
- Cultural mentoring and advising
- Similar programs
Let's get together to share what we know, learn from each other, and celebrate the great work we all do!
This 3-day event will include pre-conference workshops, and conference sessions that will help give you tips you can use as soon as you get back to campus. Come network and share great ideas.
Groups of 4 or more will receive a discount as an incentive to bring professional teams who can support each other in applying skills and implementing ideas gained from attending the conference. Also, save on registration by registering early.
Individual Registration Deadlines and Costs
August 12th - Early Bird Individual Registration Deadline $479/person
September 20th - Regular Individual Registration $499/person
Late Individual Registration $579/person
Group Registration Costs
August 1st - Early Bird Group Registration (Register by August 1st with a group of 4 or more) $429/person ($50 savings/registration)
September 20th - Regular Group Registration (Register by September 20th with a group of 4 or more) $449/person ($50 savings/registration)
Late Group Registration $529/person
You are invited to submit a proposal to present either a 60-minute session or a poster at this year's conference. The early consideration deadline for proposals is July 15th, 2017, and the final deadline is September 1st, 2017. We are looking for sessions that provide research and/or best practices on the following topics:
- New and/or creative approaches to mentoring and mentoring programs
- Building an inclusive environment
- Developing a successful program
- Training effective mentors
- Recruiting, selecting and retaining quality mentors
- Recruiting and retaining mentees
- Evaluating and assessing programs
- Assisting underrepresented populations
- Working with international students
Two Types of Sessions:
The Presenter Sessions are 45-minutes long. These sessions are ideal for presenting best practices and extended research on college peer mentoring.
The Poster Session is a 45-minute walk around session ideal for sharing an aspect of your program that is particularly successful or a short study on college mentoring.
