About the EQ-i 2.0 Assessment and Emotional Intelligence Model

The EQ-i 2.0 assessment is one the most broadly used and well-researched emotional intelligence assessments in the world. It gives a snapshot of a person’s emotional well-being in 15 different areas, including self-regard, independence, interpersonal relationships, stress tolerance, and reality testing. Research indicates that with coaching and skill-building, people can improve their emotional intelligence in some areas as much as 50%.

Workshop Overview

This workshop certifies participants in the EQ-i 2.0, EQ-i 2.0 360 and EQ-i 2.0 Leadership Assessments. You will learn how to assess, debrief and coach professionals and students to better support their success in college.

As part of your training, you will take the EQ-i 2.0, analyze your report and debrief with the workshop facilitator to explore your current emotional landscape and determine action steps to improve your emotional well-being and relationships, both personal and professional.

Next you will complete two short pre-conference training modules and a reading to gain an understanding of the EQ-i 2.0 assessment and model. The modules are completed online and take less than half a day.

During the workshop, you will learn more about administering, interpreting and debriefing the assessment and practice with colleagues. You will also consider how to utilize emotional intelligence assessment to enhance your work with students and how to integrate positive emotional skill-building into your program.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of the certification program, you will be able to:

• Define Emotional Intelligence and understand its importance

• Describe the components of the EQ-i 2.0 and the EQ 360 including Composite Scales and Subscales

• Understand the science behind the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360

• Describe best practices around administering and providing feedback on the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360

• Interpret and administer EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360 assessment results

• Follow a structured approach to prepare for a feedback session

• Explain the benefits of EI to client groups

• Describe how EI applies to different disciplines.

• Identify the ethics pertaining to the use of EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360

• Assess which report is appropriate for your client: EQ-i 2.0, EQ-i 2.0 Leadership report, EQ 360, EQ-i 2.0 Group Report or EQ Higher Education.

  • Please submit payment by 7 days prior to the event to secure your place in an event. Email info@eduology.org if you have questions or need to make special arrangements for payments, and we will do our best to accommodate.

  • Eduology Limited will issue a full refund minus the 3% transaction fee if a registered attendee sends a cancellation request by email to lisa@eduology.org 7 days prior to an event. Simply email your cancellation request to info@eduology.org.

  • Eduology cannot provide refunds for requests placed after 5:00 p.m. EST May 13th, 2024 due to event costs.

  • If we have less than 2 attendees registered by the week before an event, Eduology Limited reserves the right to cancel the event and will issue a full refund to registered attendees.


Instructor

Carrie Arnold, PhD., CEO & Founder of EQsential, LLC

Dr. Arnold is an experienced leader and leadership trainer in both higher education and non-profit/for-profit organizations. She currently trains and certifies individuals in the EQ-i 2.0/360 assessments and consults with local organizations to build curriculum for their leadership and training endeavors. A certified training partner of MHS, Inc., she has completed over 1000 coaching debriefs with students, educators, and business leaders.

Previously, Dr. Arnold was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and taught first-year seminars, leadership courses and developed curriculum for the university’s high-risk students. She was also the Interim Director of the Gateway Program Seminar, a first-year experience program and headed up their CRLA certified peer leader program, including developing training and a semester-long peer mentoring course. Dr. Arnold earned her M.A. from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland in Nonprofit Management and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In addition to presenting and writing on topics related to mentoring, leadership and emotional intelligence, she served as President of the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council. Her research is in Emotional Intelligence and its impact on personal and professional success.
