Why Become a ProjectConnect Certified Facilitator?

Nearly half of college students and 60% of employees feel lonely and disconnected. Becoming a certified ProjectConnect facilitator prepares you to lead virtual or in-person ProjectConnect groups to help students, staff and faculty on your campus build or strengthen relationships.

ProjectConnect is an evidence-based small group program that reduces loneliness and helps participants build real relationships quickly.

Since 2020, the facilitator has worked with 100+ colleges and organizations, and trained more than 750 facilitators to lead ProjectConnect groups. Thousands of people have participated, reducing loneliness and building lasting connections.

Over six weekly sessions, participants meet in groups of 6-8, and engage in guided conversation and activities that WORK. No forced mingling, trying to figure out who to talk to or what to say. The structure of the group does the heavy lifting, helping participants move beyond small talk to friendship in a fraction of the time.

Most students and employees crave closer relationships, but struggle with HOW to build them. The thing is, connection is not a mysterious process—there are reliable ways to build it. ProjectConnect provides a repeatable model for building real connection quickly.

The Result: Stronger relationships, better outcomes.

Once you become certified, you have lifetime access to the group curriculum and materials and can run ProjectConnect groups year after year.

95% of participants would recommend ProjectConnect to a friend or colleague.

More importantly, participants reduce loneliness, build relationships, and feel more connected to their campus/workplace.

COURSE DETAILS

  • ProjectConnect provides a proven model for helping participants build positive relationships quickly … think of it as a fast track to friendship. As a facilitator, you work with small groups to foster connections.

Use the program with students to help them make new connections.

Use during pre-matriculation, during orientation, or as part of the first year experience to help entering students form friendships and accelerate their adjustment to campus. And/or you can offer open-enrollment groups for students who want to broaden their social circles.

Use the program with staff and faculty to build bridges.

ProjectConnect can be used to help develop positive relationships between groups, such as class years, identity groups, or between staff and faculty. This can reduce cliques and silos on campus, and help establish greater empathy, communication, and interrelationships.

Use the program on campus to strengthen existing connections.

ProjectConnect can be used to strengthen connection within groups, such as residential areas, affinity groups, majors, teams, etc. Students are often looking for opportunities to build stronger ties within their communities or with students who share similar interests.
