Peer Mentoring Tools: Mental Health Awareness
February 11th, 2026 | 12:00 p.m. EST - 1:15 p.m. EST | $195
In this webinar, peer mentors and student leaders learn to identify mental health issues, make good referrals and communicate effectively with students experiencing mental health challenges.
Why is This Topic Important?
Recent studies show that approximately 37% of U.S. college students experience moderate to severe depressive symptoms, and about 32% report significant anxiety (reported in University of Michigan School of Public Health News Center, 2025). These high rates highlight the growing mental health crisis on college campuses, where academic pressure, social adjustment, and financial stress contribute to emotional strain. Supporting these students is vital because untreated mental health challenges can affect academic performance, relationships, and overall well-being. By providing early support, awareness, and access to resources, colleges can foster healthier learning environments and help students thrive both personally and academically.
