OVERVIEW

In this engaging and interactive webinar, participants will understand how to address inequities and become change advocates on their campuses. The facilitator uses interactive, research-based activities to provide participants with opportunities for critical reflection on cultural values—their own and others. These reflective practices are crucial in increasing the understanding, compassion and empathy that drive daily interactions with diverse students, staff and colleagues. Through applying culturally intelligent strategies, participants will receive practical anti-racism advocacy tools to implement immediately for personal, communal, and organizational transformation.

During this interactive webinar, the facilitator will engage participants in understanding elements of cultural awareness and cultural responsiveness. The presentation begins with relevant definitions and how to identify racism. The webinar will culminate in identifying effective strategies for anti-racist advocacy on college campuses. All participants will receive a digital, interactive guide.

Renee Ronika Bhatti-Klug, Ph.D., Director of Advocacy, Arizona State University and Founder and Chief Trainer, Cultural Intelligent Training and Consulting

Dr. Renee Ronika Bhatti-Klug [Ruh-nay Ron-ih-kah bah-Hot-tee Kloog] (she/her/hers) is the founder and Chief Facilitator for Culturally Intelligent Training & Consulting (CITC), a Phoenix-based Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging consultancy. As an educator, speaker, and writer, Renee focuses on the topics of developing Cultural Intelligence (CI), building people-centered curricula, and fostering cultures of belonging. For over twenty years, she has been educating students and training leaders from over 150 nations on CI, using a model she and the CITC team developed and tested through their work with corporations, universities, non-profits, and startups. As a leader, she seeks to model the values of curiosity, empathy, and compassion, all through action-oriented and data-driven decision making. Renee is a first-generation Punjabi American and Enneagram enthusiast.
